What's a Connection?
You can create a friends list by using the Connection
feature. You can request to add any
Amateur Dressage member as a Connection.
Referring to your Connections is an easy way to:
- see
which of your friends is online
- send
them a private message
- go to
their home page to see their new pictures, blog entries, etc.
To add someone as a
Connection, follow these steps:
- Log
into your Amateur Dressage account
- Under
the User Menu on the left side of the page, click Community List (this is
a list of the usernames of all the registered users in the Amateur
Dressage)
- Click
on a username or avatar (their little picture) of someone you wish to add
as a connection. See image:
- After
you click their name or avatar, you'll see that person's Profile page.
- Click
Connections, then select Request Connection. See image:

6.
You'll see a notice "Connection Pending Acceptance." This means the other person will be notified
by the system that they have a pending connection.
7.
Once they accept your connection, you'll be able to see them in your
"List of Friends."
8.
Voilà! You've got one more
dressage buddy in your list of friends.
To accept or decline
a Connection request, follow these steps:
1.
Log into your Amateur Dressage account
2.
Under the User Menu on the left side of the page, click My Page
3.
Then, select the Connections tab and you'll see the pending Connection
4.
Click the green check mark to Accept the Connection; or, Click the red X
to decline the Connection. See image:

I wanted to share with all the registered users how they can add
images to their Gallery. The Gallery is a place where you can store
pictures on your own page. If you choose, you can also make the
pictures public and they'll show up on the main page of the site in
that scrolling area labelled Member Gallery.
So, to add images to your own Gallery, follow these directions:
- Log into the site
- Click on My Page under the User Menu on the left of the screen
- You'll see several areas where you can add content. The first one is an image gallery.
- Click the link "Submit New Gallery Entry" in the top left of the gallery area.
Now you need to decide if you want to make the images visible only
to registered users of Amateur Dressage or if you want the images to be
published on the site's main page in the Member Gallery of scrolling
images.
**By default the images will show up on the main page in the Member Gallery area.**
If
you want to make the images only visible to the Amateur Dressage
community, you should click the little folder icon under the image.
See the picture below for where to click:

Hi, everyone who found us
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I sent the link to this site to a few friends last Sunday and asked a few clinic and show organizers if I could include their events on the site's calendar.
I'm so pleased to have received some really nice responses and hope that the site will be useful to everyone.
This site is set up to allow registered users add their own content to the main areas of the site (Community News, Community Blog, and Community Calendar) and I hope the site will become user-driven and community-built.
I wrote this post from the the registered user's area, by clicking the link "Submit News." Any registered user can submit news this way. Registered users can also add pictures and content to their own page on the site, under the My Page and My Groups links.
Nice to meet everyone

Until the show season starts and we hopefully get some news submissions about those, I'll add a post or two about horse-related information that I find online.
I recently saw an internet-based "TV" program on horse-related topics, including an episode on Grooming for Anky van Grunsven. The site is very well-done and the episodes and articles look interesting (although I haven't seen or read them all yet): http://www.horsegirltv.com
